Corporate Finance Executive (Big 4), Cork

You'll help those clients to make better and more informed decisions about how they manage capital and transactions in a changing world. That means advising businesses on how they preserve, optimise, raise and invest their capital to help them achieve their strategic objectives.


Typical activities will include the following:

  • Assisting clients throughout the entire transaction process, and work closely with other specialists both within TAS and other Service Lines.
  • Based on understanding the key business drivers, you will:
    • Prepare analyses of historical and pro forma financial information to assess trends and fluctuations that may impact funding requirements and deal valuation
    • Perform industry and company research utilising online tools and publicly available information
    • Assist in researching technical accounting issues to evaluate implications on transaction valuation and structuring
    • Prepare client deliverables including databook analysis, reports, presentations and discussion packs
    • Assist in managing the input of other service lines to the assignment, gaining a good overall understanding of the key issues for the proposed transaction
  • You will also help create a positive learning culture for junior team members and support their development. As part of your role in the wider team, you will play a role in other team initiatives such as account management and recruitment.
  • You will have the opportunity to:
    • Lead teams within TAS as well as other Ernst & Young departments both in Ireland and internationally.
    • Work closely with Assistant Directors, Directors or Partners ensuring assignments are executed in compliance with our policies and protocols.
    • Understand our client’s needs, co-develop our approach with the client, and provide value to our client through insights, factual conclusions and advice.
    • Lead the day to day progression of assignments to include; planning, preparing and reviewing various forms of deliverables to include reports and presentations.
    • Participate in business development initiatives.
    • Actively establish, maintain and strengthen your internal and external relationships.

Technical skills requirements

  • ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualified
  • Commercial awareness gained through relevant experience (preferably from working within an Audit or Transaction Support role)
