Avoncourt Packaging are a leading thermoforming company and we manufacture plastic packaging trays for a widevariety of customers across Ireland, the UK and Europe. Due to increased growth we are looking to expand our company by employing a fully qualified and experienced Fitter/Tool Setter. OVERALL JOB PURPOSE. In this role, you will provide overall responsibility for the inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of equipment from small tools, pumps, lighting towers, compressors and generators. This position works closely with the Production and Engineering teams. A fitter has the responsibility of maximizing production through quick troubleshooting of machinery when they are down. There is a requirement in this role to operate in a fast-paced environment be detail oriented and quality conscious at all times. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES. Support manufacturing operations to deliver our safety and quality objectives. Provide maintenance leadership to a specified manufacturing area. Provide support for the introduction of new machinery and processes within our facility. Assisting the production team with the maintenance and troubleshooting of all machinery to include inspection, repair and maintenance. Contribute to the smooth running of the production operating by identifying and resolving any problems that is causing a downtime in production. Full responsibility for tool setting, load all moulds and dies into thermoforming machines. Carry out pre and post production checks on the tooling and machines. Setting robotics in machinery as required. To ensure designated work areas are kept clean and tidy at all times free from any health and safety hazards. Maintain quality by following established quality procedures. Maintain a professional working relationship with all other personnel within and outside the factory with whom you’ve contact throughout the duration of your shift. Ensure housekeeping of factory floor and machinery in terms of tidiness and cleanliness adheres to the highest of standards. Takes direction and performs other routine duties as directed by the Managing Director. Work safely and ensure others in the department are working safely. Must be aware of and follow all safety policies, including personal protection equipment, housekeeping,etc. Responsible to identify, report any work hazards, must eliminate hazards within ability. Requires good attendance and punctuality. Ability to work with a minimum of supervision. To take pride in your personal presentation and report for duty on time as per the rota. To adhere at all times to the standard operating procedures for machinery you are using and keep to these standards. To be flexible and adaptable in your approach to work and help colleagues whenever help is required, to work as a team to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the department. To ensure at all times you take reasonable care of yourself and others and work in a safe manner to comply with Health & Safety requirements.
