The candidate should have significant previous experience of Multi Discipline Construction, preferably in the Pharmaceutical / Bio Pharmaceutical industries. The candidate will be working as part of the onsite projects group delivering multiple discipline projects. Key Competencies: Level 7 Qualification in Safety or higher related qualification. Min 5 years’ relevant experience as a safety officer in the pharma construction industry. Thorough knowledge of current Health and Safety legislation. Highly proficient with MS Office applications. Good understanding of H&S audit processes and procedures. Experience of working with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 or OHSAS 18001 would be an advantage. Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. Excellent organisational ability. Strong administration skills. Duties: Prepare health and safety plans, method statements and risk assessments. Management of the role of Project Supervisor Construction Stage. Carry out site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards. Ensure H&S legislative compliance. Assess, organise and deliver appropriate H&S training programmes to staff, as required including toolbox talks. Coordinate external training, where necessary. Carry out H&S induction with contractors. Maintain comprehensive H&S training records; compile statistics and provide reports for all H&S matters. Coordinate PPE for relevant site staff. Conduct investigations into accidents, incidents and near misses establishing causes and introduce accident and incident reduction / prevention programmes. Ensure, where necessary, that all remedial actions are carried out in a timely manner. Coordinate all H&S surveys, audits and inspections along with maintenance of appropriate records. Provide communication and awareness of all H&S issues to contractors. Provision of support relating to tasks under the 2013 Construction Regulations. Provide technical health & safety advice on a variety of site issues including but not limited to machine guarding, lockout tagout, hot work, confined space, fall protection, PPE, cranes and lifting devices, forklifts, industrial hygiene, noise, contractor management, fire protection, first aid, emergency response, etc. Carry out other tasks, as required, that are consistent with the role of the Safety Officer. The Location: The successful candidate will be based full-time at the project site in Cork, Ireland.
