The OpportunityWe are looking for a talented designer to join our expanding UI/UX team, working on a variety of exciting projects including: Evolve our successful email product into a global cross-channel communications platform. Design and conceptualize new products (mobile and web applications) from the ground up. Define information architecture and guidelines for the platform to ensure consistency as the products scale. Usability testing, contextual research, persona development and design research. Fun Friday research projects. Unlike many other UI/UX roles, at Poppulowe own our own product, so you can truly take ownership of your work. The role involves designing web applications using cutting-edge technologies in an Agile environment. You’ll join a friendly cross-functional team, where it will be your job to ensure a simple, consistent UI that meets the needs and goals of our users. What you’ll be working on: The UI/UX team work as a function across product teams within our Engineering Department. Work closely with the Product Management team to understand our users’ behaviour and solve our users’ challenges. Design proposals for new innovative features in areas of opportunity. Participate and facilitate UI/UX design studios and whiteboard ideation sessions with your team and internal/external stakeholders. Provide design proposals in low fidelity sketches and wireframes to clearly communicate the intended design, behaviour and structural decisions to your team. Test and validate design decisions with users through mockups and interactive prototypes and iterate quickly based on feedback. Utilise data-analysis of current users behaviour to support future design decisions. Utilise task analysis, card sorts and other UI/UX methods to simplify complex workflows and enabling efficient task completion. Continuously iterate and improve on your designs based on team critique, internal stakeholder and external feedback. Be the point of contact for your team for design best practice, and usability advice. What we’d like from you: 3+ years in a similar role. Experience of working with a cross-functional product team. In-depth knowledge of usability best practice, cutting edge design patterns and design for human factors and lasting user experience. Demonstrable track record in product user interface and user experience design with portfolio and work samples of. Ability to clearly articulate concepts and explain the “why” of design decisions. A Degree in Human Computer Interaction, Multimedia, Product UX Design, Computer Science or equivalent is essential. Nice to have, but not essential Experience of HTML and CSS3. Basic knowledge of JavaScript, jQuery, Angular, Bootstrap. Knowledge of Google Analytics. Data visualisation experience. Certification from Nielsen Norman or Human Factors or equivalent.
