Accounts Assistant. Under general direction of the Finance Manager, the Accounts Assistant is responsible for supporting the management of all financial related tasks for the Company. The position works closely with the Financial Accountant and contributes substantially to the quality and effectiveness of the company’s overall supply management and results. RESPONSIBILITIES: Receiving and matching invoices against Purchase Orders. Accurate GL coding and inputting supplier invoices. Resolve issues and queries relating to invoices. Supplier maintenance : Co-ordination of generating Sales Invoices. Cash application. Cashflow forecasting. Assistance in the preparation of monthly management accounts including but not limited to: Debtors and Creditors reconciliations. Accrual preparation and journal posting. Bank reconciliations. Other Balance Sheet Reconciliations. Provide support to the Finance Team by performing financial analysis and undertaking projects to improve financial control and business performance. Provide support for statutory audits and interact with the independent auditors to ensure compliance with audit requirements. Perform such other duties as the Employer may from time to time assign to this role. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS. Qualified Accounting Technician, ACA/ACCA/CPA/CIMA Part Qualified. Minimum of 2+ years’ work experience in a financial reporting role. ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS: Strong Excel skills including Vlook ups and Pivot Tables and working knowledge of other MS Office applications. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing, fast paced environment. Self-motivated and ability to work independently. Ability to perform fact-based analytical techniques. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Strong interpersonal skills, mathematical and analytical skills. Desirable Skills. Understanding of SAP, the ERP system used by the company an advantage. Working knowledge of financial and planning software packages.
