Trainee Accountant. BACKGROUND. ALS Life Sciences, (part of the ALS Group) has a fantastic opportunity for a Trainee Accountant to join their team in Little Island, Cork. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES. Chase overdue invoices by telephone, email & letter within agreed timescales. Assist in dealing with disputed invoices and negotiate to bring payment within the agreed terms subject to senior management`s approval. Identify changes in payment patterns and propose action to avert indebtedness. Undertake account reconciliations as required. Assist with sending out monthly client statements/letters as may be agreed from time to time. Assist with preparation of monthly Management Accounts for the group. Review of all department expenditure to ensure cost efficiency with suppliers of goods and services. Provide ad hoc financial reports for Management & Financial Controller when required. Liaise with Management to drive improvements within the group. Liaising with the sales and accounts receivable teams to resolve outstanding queries. Post payments to accounting system in accordance with customer remittances. Provide cover for other accounting functions as requested. ESSENTIAL SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE: Studying for CPA, ACCA, ACA or similar. Excellent standards of PC literacy (Excel, Word. Analytical and logical approach with a keen eye for detail. Able to thrive under pressure and work as part of team in a fast-paced environment. SALARY. €19k-€24k Depending on experience. Study leave provided to support you in completing your exams.
