Maintenance Fitter. In partnership with its client Kenny-Whelan & Associates is currently seeking a Maintenance Fitter for a permanent position in the Cork area. The Client: The Client is a long established materials manufacturing company in Cork. Job Responsibilities. First response for all mechanical breakdowns on site. Ongoing mechanical maintenance and repair of all equipment. Complete process improvements, preventative and predictive maintenance. Repair, Service and Maintain as well as troubleshoot equipment related problems and equipment failures such as hoists, saws, extraction systems, robotic automotive arms. Update as appropriate the existing preventative maintenance programme. Work alongside a team of other Maintenance Fitters and Electricians ensuring the smooth consistent running of equipment. Analyse downtime and implement cycle of continuous improvement to drive plant uptime by focusing on maintenance best practice. Maintenance will be carried out on: Motors and gear boxes from fractional horsepower to up to 125Kw. Chain drives and chains. Hydraulic systems including servo driven hydraulic systems. Pneumatic systems. Forktrucks and mobile plant equipment. Boilers and drying kilns, including low pressure hot water systems. Other: Investigate EHS incidents, complete EHS actions as appropriate. Perform all tasks with due recognition of safety, environment and company procedures. Education : Candidates must be qualified Mechanical Fitters - time served mechanical fitter in the areas of Mechanical Automation and Maintenance, Manufacturing, Toolmaking or similar. Qualification / Certificate in Safe Pass, Mobile Elevated Work Platforms. Leaving Certificate. Job Requirements. Minimum of 5 years working in a Heavy Materials Manufacturing Environment. Heavy industry experience a MUST and used to working indoors and outdoors all year round. General Skills: • Analytical. • Strong organisational, time management and planning ability. • Excellent computer skills.
