Public Affairs Officer. Cork. Working with a leading Irish business, who are looking to recruit a Community Officer who will be responsible for managing and delivering communications within the region. The successful candidate will establish and promote good relations with local communities and other stakeholders. Duties include: •Liaise with individuals, representatives of local authorities and relevant stakeholder groups. •Develop effective communication and reporting processes. •Document workshop outputs, meeting decisions, draft presentations. •Support the knowledge management team in the identification, documentation and sharing of lessons learned. •Responsible for processing and managing all complaints received with regard to project activity. •Proactively seek opportunities for engagement including meetings with individuals and groups and responding to queries and concerns of local stakeholders. •Act as a link and provider of information between the project team, contractors and the local community. •Work on all administration aspects of the role to a timely and accurate standard. Skills/Experience required: •Educated to degree level in social sciences, community development, democracy and governance or equivalent experience. •Exposure in PR/Media/Public Affairs ideally government exposure too. •Minimum of 5 years relevant post qualification experience. • Full driving licence required. •Must be available to work evenings and weekends as required in order to facilitate community needs. •Previous experience of working on corporate social responsibility initiatives. •Extensive experience of community development work.
