Clinical Nurse Manager II (Permanent. Infection Prevention Control. (Under the Governance of Mercy University Hospital Cork CLG.) The Clinical Nurse Manager in Infection Prevention and Control provides specialist nursing advice and support as a member of the interdisciplinary team within the Hospital. The nurse will work in collaboration with the various specialist and professional teams within the Hospital in relation to the prevention and control of infection. Responsibilities - The post holder will be responsible for; -Promote a safe clinical environment with due regard to health and safety and risk management strategies. -Act as an Infection Prevention and Control leader within the organisation. -Represent the Infection Prevention and Control team at local, national and international meetings as required. -Develop the ability to use the resource provided in an effective and economic manner. -Maintain appropriate and accurate written records regarding patient care. -Ensure that national, regional and all hospital policies and procedures are adhered to. -Comply with all safety regulations and audits in line with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act, 2005. -Investigate and discuss untoward incidents/accidents involving patients, staff and /or equipment when appropriate. -Promote the implementation of the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA. Eligibility Criteria - Candidates: -Be registered in the general division of the Register of Nurses maintained by NMB1 or be eligible to be so registered. -Have at least five years post registration experience. -Recent experience in the area of Infection Prevention and control. -Will demonstrate evidence of a commitment to personal professional development, training and nursing research.
