IT Security Operations Analyst. Permanent. Cork. Role Purpose: The IT Security Operations Analyst is responsible forDaily monitoring of IT security events, including incident and vulnerability management. This role monitors and analyzes security events relative to the infrastructure of the company. The IT Security Operations Analyst should have familiarity with the principles of network and endpoint security, current threat and attack trends, and have a working knowledge of security principles such as defence in depth. Role Responsibilities: Perform real-time security log and event analysis taking appropriate action within defined parameters. Monitor and proactively execute the vulnerability management plan to prevent or reduce issues from impacting production systems. Assist with security investigations to determine root cause, impact and remediation steps. Maintain security toolsets and reporting dashboards. Identify and analyze malware including global trends. Assist in security solution design in support of business initiatives and the IT Security Strategy. Provide support to other IT teams with regard to security design or functionality. Work to continuously improve security operations procedures supporting the IT Security Strategy. Serve as escalation point for security incidents. Manage with highest regard sensitive and confidential information and situations. Research and analysis of security vulnerabilities and industry trends. Regular report out of IT security events along with remediation activities. Preserving evidence gathered during incidents and investigations. Role Requirements: Practical experience in vulnerability management and incident handling. Practical experience working with varied vulnerability management, SIEM and ticketing solutions. 5+ years IT Experience with at least 3-5 years in IT Security capacity. At least 3+ years of security technology and/or compliance experience supporting production system management in a UNIX, Microsoft Windows, or another industry-leading technical environment.
