I am currently recruiting for a permanent Commercial Operations Manager, for a Cork based manufacturing organisation. This role will be responsible for the Operational Management of the Company, liaising directly withthe Board and the Managing Director. General Responsibilities will include: Responsible for production, cost control, health and safety, facilities, supply chain and future business strategy. Responsible for the effective operation of the manufacturing centre, involving production management, administration, production planning, personnel training, supply chain activities and customer support activities. Management of the reporting of KPI’s from production and supply chain departments. Responsibility for the current and future planning and organisation of the manufacturing function including staffing requirements, capital equipment purchase and facilities acquisition or expansion to achieve the future capacity required to deliver orders on time. With the Managing Director, setting financial budgets and driving the development of the business to achieve growth and profit targets. Development of operational policies to deliver and maintain cost, quality and productivity targets. Formulating policies and strategic plans in support of company’s growth. Responsible for improving operational efficiency by promoting continuous improvement initiatives and developing LEAN processes. Form and implement an operational strategy to achieve the key board-agreed deliverables. Responsible for ensuring compliance and implementing all operational aspects of Food Safety/ISO 22000. Responsible for operations staff management, motivation, training, compliance and managing labour costs in line with agreed budgets. Responsible for developing a culture of co-operation and teamwork. The Person. The Operations Manager will have excellent influencing skills, people leadership ability and good Human Resources practice awareness. They will have a background in Operations Management with a focus on improvement and change. They will be a natural entrepreneur with the commercial rigour and determination to solve problems and deliver to a tight budget. • They will have good project management experience. They will understand and be competent using ERP systems to manage their business. • A background in stock control and warehouse management systems in the food sector would be ideal but equivalent experience in other sectors will be considered. Regardless of sector, the Operations Manager will have worked in a fast-paced dynamic environment. • The Operations Manager will be an ambassador for the Business and will act as “deputy” to the Managing Director. Essential Qualifications and Experience. • A minimum of 7 years industry experience in a food distribution or FMCG Supplier environment with recent experience in an Operations Management role. • Educated to degree level in an appropriate discipline relevant to the position. • Appropriate training and qualifications in Health & Safety and Food Safety standards and best practice. for further details on this role - please apply via the link or email me at aisling.mcsweeney@cpl.ie.
