The Irish Times DAC recently completed the acquisition of all of the publishing and media interests of the Examiner Group. The objective of the newly combined entities is to create a dynamic and vibrant media business which can sustain itself for the longer term and where the respective media assets – national, regional and radio – will contribute significantly to the Irish media market. The transaction brings together two organisations with a quality focus and strong ethos. The Irish Examiner is looking to recruit the following editorial position: Digital Journalist. We would like to invite applications to work on our digital desk which oversees digital operations for irishexaminer.com and breakingnews.ie. The successful candidate will have an understanding of story structures and digital story-telling. S/he will demonstrate a flair for sub-editing and the ability to source, create, publish and promote digital content. They will play an active part in enhancing content feeds to ensure articles are optimised for digital. The successful candidate will demonstrate an interest in news across a variety of content categories including news, sports, entertainment and have the ability to juggle information from many sources simultaneously.
