I am currently recruiting for a permanent Global Supply Chain Manager for a multinational food manufacturing organisation. The role will be based out of the company's Cork office and will report directly to the company's Senior VP of Operations. Responsibilities will include: Ensure supply chain processes and procedures for negotiation, contracts, and ongoing purchasing are developed and followed locally (including definition of which processes are owned globally vs. locally. Recommend improvements to processes as appropriate. Ensure broad and accurate sources of market / benchmark data for all major raw material and freight cost sources in each region in which company operates. Provide periodic education overview of market realities to decision makers for each region - particularly during budgeting/buying peak time. Provide recommendations and facilitate rapid decision making when key opportunities to purchase arise – define and refine who must be involved in major decisions for each region. Strong on going communication with sales, manufacturing and finance to address opportunities or issues that arise throughout the year. Identify potential suppliers for all major raw materials, both using own global resources, and with local support. With other members of senior management as appropriate, serve as the negotiation point of contact for contract negotiations with all key suppliers. Using personal insights and proven tools, complete risk assessments and develop recommendations for supply chain strategies that achieve a reasonable compromise between best cost structure and best reliability. Requirements: Bachelors degree inbusiness or science related field. Experience in raw material negotiation and purchasing, freight negotiation and purchasing required. International experience with negotiation and purchasing a strong plus. Priority management – demonstrated ability to evaluate, communicate and adjust priorities to both respond to crisis issues and ensure focus on the “most important” opportunities. Strong system and data management capabilities. Demonstrated results orientation – “net lowest cost” inclusive of risk management. Strong written and oral communication a must.
