JOB TITLE: Traffic & Transport Modeller. REF NO: J5018. REPORT TO: Technical Director, Highways & Transportation. LOCATION: Cork. JOB TYPE: Permanent. We are currently recruiting Traffic & Transport Modellers to work as key members of our Highways & Transportation Team. The successful candidates will be joining a recognised leader in the delivery of consultancy services in Ireland and the UK. The position will be based in our Cork office. Qualifications and Skills: A Degree in Civil Engineering or other STEM subject as a minimum. Minimum of 2 years + relevant experience in transport modelling / transport planning. Road and junction design experience would be advantageous. Ability to write clear and readable technical reports. Knowledge and experience of data analysis within a transport context. Excellent verbal, written communication skills and highly numerate. Comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary team. Desirable Skills: Proficiency and experience in model calibration, validation, use of models for option testing, interpretations and presentation of model results would be advantageous. Experience with traffic assignment Modelling software (e.g. SATURN, VISUM. Experience with microsimulation Modelling software (e.g VISSIM, PARAMICS), junction Modelling software (e.g. TRL JUNCTIONS suite, LinSIG, ARCADY, PICADY, TRANSYT), mode choice models. Experience of using spreadsheet, database and mapping software for data analysis. Duties and Responsibilities. Working as part of multi-disciplinary project teams involved in the design and delivery of highway, transport and infrastructural projects. Ability to lead and motivate themselves, takes ownership of issues and seeks team participation to achieve best solution. Compliance with RPS systems. Ensure understanding of project management objectives. Engagement with clients and design teams for project delivery. Willingness to learn and develop. About RPS.
