Key Accountabilities. Drive and co-ordinate timely and accurate review and completion of accounting transactions and month end close. Involvement in detailed variance analysis of revenue and Opex and engage with the Operations team to fully understand any queries raised as necessary. Drive business performance by identifying trends and variances that can be actioned within the business to improve profitability. Assist in measuring and analysing performance against budget, target and/or forecast. Ensure that all appropriate accounting controls and reconciliations are in place for allocated areas, and are continuously monitored and exceptions actioned. Maintain strong working relationships both internally and externally to ensure effective information flow (Operations team, Commercial team, Corporate Consolidation group etc) and help build a stronger finance function which is integrated into the operations of the business. Manage the year-end audit and ensure financial statements are produced in a timely manner. Liaise with the Tax team to manage tax queries as they arise. Assist in the preparation of business unit reports to meet business and group requirements. Consolidate and grow our position as a Finance base for the European platform by getting involved in the integration of potential newly acquired entities from a finance perspective. Any other duties as required. Requirements. Newly qualified Accountant preferably coming from a BIG 4. Experience in a SOX environment is an advantage. Familiarity with ERP systems, particularly IFS and IBM Cognos Controller would be an advantage. Enthusiastic committed self-starter with proactive approach to problem solving. Strong organisational and analytical capabilities with attention to detail, high levels of integrity, and professionalism at all times, with a proven ability to multi-task. Excellent skills in MS Excel and experience in MS PowerPoint and MS Word. Ability to work on own initiative and also as part of a team.
