Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical)
Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical) - County Cork. Our client seeks a hands-on, quick-thinking individual to work in the Maintenance department to install and maintain systems and machinery. Root cause breakdowns, training production operators in routine maintenance and repairs. Liaising with the Lean department to facilitate continuous improvement. Core job responsibilities: • Schedule and undertake periodic maintenance on all equipment, components, and installations, carry out required paperwork for internal and external audits. • Provide prompt response to enquiries whenever there is a breakdown, and resolve the issue as quickly as possible. • Ensure that equipment is in good working order so as to prevent disruption of activities. • Installation of fresh electrical components and fittings. • Recommend replacement for old or faulty assets/components or fittings to the management. • Assist in forecasting requirements & planned maintenance. • Keep record of all stock and supplies & re-order of spare parts. • Working in collaboration with the Production/Quality/Eng/Lean team to formulate the best cost-effective manufacturing process. • Perform energy audit and recommend alternative sources of energy. • Help the organisation to reduce energy costs. • Fix and maintain lighting fixtures and fittings. • Troubleshoot machine breakdowns and provide preventive maintenance services. • Learn new skills and attend training programs in other to increase knowledge of trends and best practices in the industry. • Provide safe working environment for members of staff, and ensure electricity induced accidents and mishaps are prevented. • Supervise electrical works when new projects are undertaken. • Working closely with H&S advisor along with environmental. • Office moves and relocation of equipment. • Working with I.T. on cabling and server cabinets. • Support the company in increasing profitability by managing resources efficiently and making necessary recommendations. Key skills sought for this role: • At least 5 years’ experience in manufacturing industry. • An ability to work well under pressure. • Good verbal and written communication skills. • Strong mechanical background. • Relevant technical knowledge. • Problem-solving and fault-finding skills. • Working on small and large projects and meeting deadlines. • Maintenance Planning. • Good computer skills. • Ideally robotic experience. • Ideally CNC experience. • Team working skills with other departments. • Ideally pneumatic experience. • Ideally AutoCAD.
