Description

Role Specification. Role Purpose. Responsible for all aspects of Cork Chamber finance function. This is a role for a fully qualified accountant who wants to take ownership of their position. Please note that the Chamber can be flexible with working hours for this role and may consider a reduced working week depending on the qualities of the successful candidate. Area of Responsibility: Key Activities. Management of the banking function – processing payments, cashflow management, account reconciliations. Preparation of Management Accounts with supporting analysis and commentary for the Management Committee and Board. Credit control, accounts payable and receivable. Preparing and posting of journals incl accruals & prepayments for quarterly & annual accounts. Preparing of annual financial statements with active involvement in audit preparation & delivery. Dealing directly with external auditors & senior stakeholders to ensure successful completion of financial statements. Preparation of VAT returns, invoicing for membership fees. Assisting with annual budget. Debtor Management. Contribute to process improvements within the finance function. Support Chamber activities & functions as required. Export Documentation Signatory. Any other ad hoc duties to support the wider office environment. Knowledge & Skills. Essential Qualifications. Qualified accountant. Functional Knowledge & Experience. Business Knowledge & Experience. MS office, high level excel skills. Appropriate accounting experience across management & financial accounting desirable. Knowledge of preparing and/or performing audits. Strong commercial knowledge. Customer focus. Essential Skills. Sage accounts experience or similar accounting packages. Excellent IT skills and experience using a CRM system. Excellent attention to detail & high level of accuracy. Self-driven, strong work ethic & proven confidentiality. Strong communication skills. Flexible, team player. Desirable Skills. Experience of developing financial systems and policies. Implementing process improvements through greater use of digital capabilities.
