Description

Cork City Council is a large urban authority with over 1,300 employees across 40 locations. It has 31 Elected Members representing six wards across the City. The Council has an annual revenue budget of just over €168 million (2019) and provides a wide and diverse range of public services such as housing, roads and transportation, libraries, physical planning and development, environment and water services and community and economic development. Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Director of Human Resource Management and Organisational Development will be expected to fulfil a key leadership role in Cork City Council. S/he will lead and direct a programme of Strategic HR transformation work to develop and implement a best practice HR Strategy. In addition, s/he will design and facilitate the implementation of change management programmes to support cultural and organisational change and performance improvement in line with organisational values. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in HR leadership at a senior level in a large and complex organisation in either the public or private sector. S/he will have a strong record of developing and leading strategic change management programmes, as well as delivering operational excellence.
