Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer, Building Services. Ref No: J5292. Location: Cork. Job Type: Permanent. RPS are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer who will contribute as a key member of our Mechanical & Electrical Team in Cork. About You. Minimum Level 8 Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Sustainable Energy Engineering or Building Services Engineering with 2 years minimum post graduate experience. Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary environment. Demonstrate satisfactory knowledge of Mechanical Building Services Engineering across a range of market sectors Be motivated and willing to learn with a commitment to CPD. Have some knowledge of AutoCAD/Revit MEP. Have some knowledge of Building Services Design Software, such as IES or Hevacomp. Take responsibility for delivering good quality engineering designs. Fulfil the duties expected of a Design Engineer, as listed below. Duties and Responsibilities: Complete detailed design calculations of mechanical building services systems under the direction of the Senior Engineer. Produce detailed P&ID and layout drawings in accordance with RPS CAD standards. Check project documentation, drawings and calculations, as required. Ensure all design calculations are in accordance with the requirements of the RPS Quality Management Systems. Mark up P&ID’s and layout drawings for review. Carry out site surveys and attend site meetings. Co-ordinate services drawings. Assist in the management of drawings associated with the project including the compilation of detailed specifications and tender documentation. Demonstrate self-directed learning ability. Follow training plans for ongoing professional development towards Chartered status. Knowledge Skills & Abilities Demonstrate satisfactory knowledge of Energy-Efficient Design and incorporation of renewable energy solutions within projects. Good computer skills in using standard office software, such as Microsoft word and excel. Understanding of specific building services design tools, such as AutoCAD, HEVACOMP and IES. Ability to work within a BIM environment would be an advantage but is not essential. About Us.
