RPS have a great career opportunity for a Transport Modeller to assist with a range of transport studies dealing with highway and other modelling projects, to contribute to the technical development of traffic models and forcasting studies. You will work as a key member of our Highways & Transportation team in Cork. The successful candidates will be joining a recognised leader in the delivery of consultancy services in Ireland and the UK. About Us. In Ireland, we employ 600 of the most talented, high-performing professionals in the industry. About You. A Degree in Civil Engineering, Transport, Mathematics or a related subject. Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in transport modelling / transport planning and analysis. Ability to download, extract, manipulate and analyse traffic data. Knowledge and awareness of transport modelling theory/method, data collection, analytical techniques. Highly numerate with strong problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to write clear technical reports. Ability to work under minimal supervision. Comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary team. Experience of working with public and private sector clients. Desirable Skills Proficiency and experience in model calibration, validation, use of models for option testing, interpretations and presentation of model results would be advantageous. Experience with traffic assignment Modelling software (e.g. SATURN, VISUM. Experience with microsimulation Modelling software (e.g VISSIM, PARAMICS), junction Modelling software (e.g. TRL JUNCTIONS suite, LinSIG, ARCADY, PICADY, TRANSYT), mode choice models. Experience of using spreadsheet, database and mapping software for data analysis. Traffic, transportation, road and junction planning or design experience would be advantageous.
