Management Account- 6 Month Contract
Management Accountant x 6-month contract. 64k pro-rata. The successful candidate will ensure that the Head of Finance has access to expert financial advice and decision support. In performing their duties, the Management Accountant must operate within the relevant financial policies and financial guidelines of our client’s business. Responsibilities: Supporting senior finance colleagues working in the Community in ensuring the Community Healthcare Organisation (CHO) operates an effective financial planning and monthly financial performance management process so that the CHO can deliver the maximum amount of safe service while operating within the limits of the budget made available to it. Taking responsibility where required for management of finance staff, financial systems, financial processes and financial data and proactive management of any shared responsibility in this regard. Provide Caregroup financial and Management accounting information in a timely manner, including analysis and commentary. Budget control & Monitoring - provide regular updates of Projected Financial outturn, issues and challenge against Operational Plan. Monitor Paybill & liaise with Service and Corporate colleagues as appropriate. Support the Service and take a lead role for the Annual Estimates and Service Planning processes. Liaise and work with National Business partners with regard to Budget management, Corporate requests, and future developments (eg Service Listings. Reviewing and sign-off of relevant management accounting and financial accounting information including accruals/prepayments, cost transfers, monthly and ad-hoc reports, cost containment reports, forecasts, cash reports, annual financial statement information etc. Promote and ensure full compliance with all Finance Policies, Financial Regulations (NFRs) and best accounting practice at all times. Supporting and participating in the on-going review and improvement of the system of Internal Financial Controls, including but not limited to: CHO Financial Controls Assurance Group. Compliance with Procurement Rules. Financial / governance / compliance aspects of managing the relationship with funded service providers. Cash handling. Engagement with Internal Audit and implementation of IA recommendations. Engagement with Comptroller & Auditor General and implementation of management letter recommendations. Tax compliance. Management of stocks, debtors and cash. Maintenance of financial risk register. Requirements: Membership of a recognised or prescribed accountancy body such as CPA, ACA, ACCA, ACMA, CIMA, or equivalent. Relevant senior post-qualification experience in a large complex organisation with multiple stakeholders. High-level user experience of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) financial system software, to include running reports and extraction of data.
