Our client, a well established, Irish owned, company seeks a self motivated and experienced Business Development Executive. The area to cover is to be determined, either South/North or East/West. This will be a home office set up, with initial requirement to attend training in Cork. This role includes calling on existing clients and there is a requirement to bring in new business too. A Food/Dairy Science Qualification or RELATED 3rd Level qualification is essential. A minimum of 4 years proven B2B sales track record selling into Food, Brewing, Dairying, Beverage, Meat Processing, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Laundry and Water Treatment industries. Your duties will include: Manage existing accounts and develop new business in existing accounts (20%) Identify new opportunities and markets through calling on prospective clients to develop new business opportunities and gain new customer base (80%) Active management of the full sales cycle. Responsible for new market exploitation and developing growth strategies in accordance with the companies management policies and sales objectives. Establish strong customer relationships. Achieve sales targets. Delivery of technical service on product application including preparation and delivery of presentations and solution proposals. Candidate background: Good knowledge of chemistry or experience working in industries which use chemicals for cleaning, (eg production manager from dairy processing plant.) Proven business to business sales experience, ideally in the relevant industries of food, dairying, brewing, distilling, etc. Full clean drivers license. Third level qualification in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science, Agricultural Science or related discipline is desirable, but not essential. Candidate profile: Have a results driven, customer focussed approach to sales. Ability to work on own initiative. Ability to work under pressure or under tight time constraints. Excellent negotiating, communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent IT and report writing skills. Determined, ambitious, energetic and enthusiastic. Hard working and a quick learner.
