Job Description. Job Purpose. A key support to the Financial Controller, providing accurate information, adhering to reporting deadlines, ensuring statutory compliance in, providing finance support to management. Responsibilities: Month end responsibilities – particularly ensuring all fixed assets are correctly recorded, expenses – personnel and business - properly analysed and recorded in accordance with local & corporate finance procedures and GAAP. Completion of gross margin analysis. Intercompany accounts are reconciled between relevant affiliates and our client company. Involvement in the budget and projection process, developing the overhead costs for the facility & administering updates & changes throughout the process. Analysis of E/A vs proposed budget. Completion of the necessary schedules in the budget package. Local and Divisional reporting as required, including headcount, Capex, operations, completed accurately and on time. Project work including finance input to process & IT systems. Start-up project cost monitoring, adhoc projects as required. Fixed Asset responsibility – All asset expenditure appropriately authorized in line with procedures and controls. Assets recorded correctly and good internal controls on safeguarding of company’s assets. Participation in the capital budget process. Responsibility for Intrastat,Vies, Duty – Individual bears joint responsibility with the logistics coordinator to ensure compliance, correct reporting and obtaining most favourable duty treatments/rates for imports. Timely and Accurate completion of all Duty and other returns and any other government returns as required. Validating each change of business to the existing duty and VAT model to ensure any changes are captured and dealt with appropriately. Generate and post AR invoices, allocate payment, reconcile accounts. Ensure continual Quality System compliance by adherence to established and evolving QS requirements. Cost Accounting and reporting to be completed as necessary. Including Inventory reconciliations, overhead and scrap posting and variance calculation. Requirements: Understanding of statutory financial requirements and Financial Reporting Standards. Strong Financial accounting knowledge. Detailed knowledge of VAT and Duty (European). Confidential and impartial. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, outlook, plus strong knowledge of fully integrated accounting operating system –eg, JDE, Oracle. Minimum Requirements. Education. Minimum Diploma in Business Studies and Accounting. Experience. Preferred Part Qualified Member of Professional accountancy body. Minimum 2-3 years accounting experience as higher level clerk in a manufacturing industry using a computer based costing system. Preferred 2-3 years’ experience in assistant accountant/higher clerk role in pharmaceutical or medical device industry.
