Cork City Council is a large urban authority with over 1,500 employees across 40 locations. It has 31 Elected Members representing five wards across the City. The Council provides a wide and diverse range of public services such as, housing, management of the public realm, libraries, physical planning and development, community, culture and place-making and the delivery of infrastructure projects. Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Law Agent is Head of the Office of Legal Affairs of the Council and is responsible for leading, organising, managing and supervising the work of that Department, including the management of the staffi ng resources available. The Office of Legal Affairs provides legal services and advice in Property-Based Services, Code Enforcement, Judicial Review, Debt Collection, and General Law Advisory Services. The successful candidate will: • Have been admitted and enrolled as a solicitor in the State; • Have at least eight years’ experience as a solicitor, including adequate experience of court work; • Possess a high standard of professional experience.
