Trainee Production Supervisor. My client is looking to hire a Food Science graduate (or other relevant BSc -see below)) to train up for a Production Supervisor position. The West Cork company is expanding- plans are in place to build a 3rd plant next year. The Plant is based in a small West Cork town so preferably someone who is based locally and hoping to build a long career in West Cork. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated hard work, motivation and commitment from ongoing or prior casual work or perhaps have worked in a family business /farm. Key Duties and Responsibilities Supervise production under the guidance of Production Manager & Factory manager. Responsible for the management of production taking into consideration all requirements, targets and the customer. Oversee efficient and rapid handling of customer orders to guarantee on time delivery. Participating actively in standardization and cost reduction. Positive engagement with NPD and Quality teams on all issues relating to production and new product trials. Regularly report performance metrics to Production Manager & Factory Manager (daily, weekly, monthly quarterly. Implement cost control programs. Food Safety Responsibilities Ensure all standard operating procedures for production operations are adhered to. Ensure all Food Safety and Quality procedures are embedded into the production processes. Enforce quality control and tracking /recording programs are in place in production to meet quality objectives. Ensure all BRC, HACCP systems are always functional and adhered to. Ensure all personnel are trained fully in Food safety. Review and analyze regularly, in conjunction with the Quality team, all production food checks, controls and system’s ensuring their ability to detect and correct problems issues. Responsible for understanding and ensuring all Health & Safety procedures are always implemented and adhered to. Qualifications Degree in food science, process engineering, materials technology, or industrial engineering, Key Competencies Strong technical ability. Able to motivate, influence, and train people.
