Bridge Engineer (Consultancy. Cork €Neg. Required for global design Consultancy working on an exciting portfolio of varied and challenging work. We are looking for an enthusiastic engineer with excellent design, technical, and software skills who enjoys working collaboratively in multi-professional design teams, taking responsibility for projects from inception to completion to achieve outstanding results. Responsibilities Bridges and civil structures design across a range of project types and scales, including suspension and cable stayed bridges, moving bridges, jacked box structures, rail and highway bridges, architectural footbridges, underground station and deep retaining structures. Design delivery within a multi-disciplinary environment. Managing sub teams in the production of drawings, reports, risk registers and specifications. Client liaison and assisting in the winning of work. Contributing to the development and application of best practice. Assistance in the achievement of business objectives. Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior staff. Periodic site visits with liaison during construction. Minimum Requirements. Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or similar. Chartered professional status. Strong technical skills in bridge design and analysis, including proven experience in the use of Midas Civil software package and in the design of precast segmental post-tensioned concrete viaducts. Quality design experience in the fields of bridges and civil structures. Be able to design and deliver bridge engineering solutions on complex projects. Experience of leading sub teams on multi-disciplinary projects. Able to quickly develop successful client relationships. An ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Excellent planning and organisation skills. Strong commercial skills.
