Hartley People Ltd. have been providing Contract Engineers for many years as part of a broader full service recruitment offering. The company is now expanding and developing its Contract Engineering Division and is looking to make a key business appointment to lead and drive this business division to the next level. This is a hugely exciting opportunity for a candidate who is innovative, hard working and wants to run his/her own business. Job Purpose. To manage and drive this business unit within the Hartley People group of companies, growing and developing the business as its own fully autonomous unit and managing all aspects of operations, business development and profitability. Key Responsibilities. Managing the existing business, it’s clients and contractors, ensuring value and customer service excellence is delivered to all stakeholders. Full responsibility for the P&L of the engineering business unit. Leverage existing business assets such as our candidate database and our extensive client (end user) base to grow the engineering contractor division of the company. Operational delivery of the service to clients incl. sourcing and liaising with contractors and clients, to fill vacant engineering posts that have been identified by our clients. Manage all aspects of the client/contractor relationship throughout the growth of the business. Work closely with our marketing team and the company Directors to market and brand the business to its target audience. Identify and drive our USP, differentiating us from the competition and making us the Engineering Contractor house of choice in the south-east region. Work closely with the existing operations team to create / find business synergies and leverage their knowledge and contacts. Innovate and identify opportunities that complement the business and foster its growth. The Person. Degree qualified (level 8) in a relevant discipline. Experience or qualifications in a technical field an advantage. Previous experience in the recruitment of Contract Engineering / Technical Staff. Intrapreneurial style/approach with ability to develop innovative approach to growing a business. Hands-on style/approach and can-do attitude. Excellent people skills, with ability to build strong relationships.
