Description

Revenue, as the Irish Tax and Customs administration, plays a critical part in securing Ireland’s fiscal, social and economic foundations. Its mission is “To Serve the Community by fairly and efficiently collecting taxes and duties and implementing import and export controls.” As a member of the senior management team, the Head of Business Taxes Policy and Legislation Division has responsibility for legislation and interpretation matters relating to all business taxes, principally Corporation Tax, Business Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax and Financial Services taxation, including Banking and Insurance activities, Investment Funds and Life Policies. The Division also has responsibility for supporting the Minister for Finance and the Department of Finance in policy development in relation to business taxes and for the production of the annual Budget and Finance Bill and drafts the legislation to give effect to decisions made by the Minister for Finance and the Government. The ideal candidate will: • Have significant recent management experience at an appropriate senior level, including leading and managing teams in a large and complex organisation; • Have the ability, or the capacity to quickly acquire: – Up to date knowledge and insights on how modern tax and duty administration operates; – A detailed knowledge of the current Irish business tax legislation environment; – A knowledge of legal and accountancy principles and how these apply in practice from a Revenue business tax perspective.
