Orion Group Life Sciences have an exciting opportunity for a Product Manager (Electronics) for our client based in Cork. This is a permanent role. Job Purpose. In collaboration with their partners and an endeavour to "ramp up" production in the near future our client will firstly look to on-board this Product Manager. In essence Electronic Design and development competency will be key here. He/she won't necessarily need to be a designer (being so is a bonus) but must certainly have good knowledge of electronic design and development. As this is a new product, New Product Introduction experience is a significant advantage. He/she will eventually report to the Director of Engineering. Main Responsibilities of the role. Strong exposure to maintenance & development of Product History Files. He/she will include the coordination of input from all involved stakeholders (external investors academic institutions etc. various external test houses, and internal testing. Can rely upon the electronic experience/input to maintaining the BOM of existing products. Experience dealing with end of life electronic parts & to undertake Verification & Validation. Knowledge of wireless detection systems i.e. Bluetooth and Digital Signal Processing (DSP. In addition, he/she will be involved with product manufacturing for a short term (6-months. This gives the individual the opportunity to marry design for manufacturing insight with product development, also look at optimising manufacturing flow. The ideal candidate would be someone who has worked within Medical Device for 3 years. Proven background/responsibility for PCBA design and verification. Comfortable within a design team in an SME. Desired Experience and Background of the successful candidate. Minimum B.Sc. in Electronic Engineering. Other qualifications desired. At least 3 year's exposure to the Medical Device sector preferred. Other industries i.e. Aerospace/Pharma will be look at if he/she has Electronic Product Management experience.
