Clinical Nurse Manager II. Acute Gerontology Unit. (Permanent. The CNM 2 is an essential member of the Nurse Management Team. This involves the implementation and evaluation of nursing services, the maintenance of the optimum clinical and dementia friendly environment, the clinical working environment and the enhancement of an effective clinical learning environment. The post of CNM 2 is central to the co-ordination and management of activity and resources, both in St. Mary’s ward and in the wider care of the older adult within the Care of the older adult services. Responsibilities - The post holder will be responsible for; • The provision of the highest standards of appropriate nursing care to meet the complex health needs of elderly patients, especially those affected by degrees of cognitive impairment such as dementia. • The management of all nursing and nursing support staff in the clinical area in consultation with the Senior Nurse Management team. • The maintenance and development of professional nursing standards. • The maintenance of a safe environment for patients and staff within allocated resources. • A particular emphasis on promotion of multi-disciplinary team working. • Ensure appropriate use of the admission and discharge policies. • Ensure a co-ordinated approach in St Mary’s Ward to meet key performance indicators.
