A Manufacturing Engineer is required by CareerWise Recruitment for our client - a leading distributor of capital equipment for the electronics and medical device manufacturing industries. This is an initial 6 month contract assignment to support expanding manufacturing operations on site at a Cork based MN electronics company. Please call Diarmuid Buckley on 021 4355432 for full details; ROLE: * This position provides engineering support to production operations in Cork and EMEA Distribution Centre locations. * Provide support and leadership in achieving World Class Manufacturing, Safety, Quality, and Cost standards through continuous process improvement activities. * Design, commissioning and qualification of semi-automated and automated fixturing. * Support New Product Introductions across several product lines. * Drive cycle time improvement, line balancing, line design, yield improvement and scrap reduction. * Consistently identifies, initiates and drives continuous improvement throughout the business. REQUIREMENTS: * Third level qualification in Engineering with strong technical aptitude. * Relevant Engineering experience specifically relating to Lean Manufacturing, production support and quality. * Exposure to lean manufacturing principles including 5S, WCM, Standard Work and TPM. * Should be flexible and capable of working on own initiative with a professional attitude and good communication skills. * Computer-literate with experience of appropriate simulation and CAD packages.
