We have an opportunity for the position of Assistant News Editor. The successful candidate will assist the News Editor in directing The Echo news coverage on all platforms. Sound editorial judgment while working to deadline is crucial for the role. Applicants will be required to demonstrate experience of multi-tasking, forward planning and possess the ability to deliver rewrites from one or more content sources. The successful candidate will be expected to provide feedback to reporters and ensure that content is delivered to deadline with all necessary legal checks and balances fulfilled. This is an opportunity for an experienced news reporter to expand and develop their career by working on a busy news desk. The role is based in Cork, working as part of a roster and will report to the News Editor of The Echo.
