Production Shift Manager - County Cork. We have been retained to recruit a Production Shift Manager for a client company in County Cork. This is a shift-based role with the shift pattern consisting of 4 days followed by 4 off, then followed by 4 nights on and 4 off. All shifts being 7am-7pm or 7pm to 7am. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: Shift Management- Lead the Shift Team to achieve production targets/KPI's. Set weekly targets and objectives for the Shift Team. Ensure the highest standards of product quality, integrity and hygiene. Maintain excellent standards of Good Manufacturing Practice and Good Housekeeping Practice. Monitor and control costs. Ensure the safe working practices and conduct of the team, contractors and visitors. Ensure that team are properly trained and managed to work in a safe, quality conscious and effective way. Maintain positive working relationships and ensure effective communication at all levels. Ensure all work areas and equipment within your control are regularly and properly maintained to deliver optimum performance. Drive initiatives to maximise employee contribution and drive improvements in product quality and process/system efficiencies. Liaise with QA & QC, logistics, technical and maintenance teams to achieve optimum results. Interface with HR in relation to employee performance/development and any employee relations issues. Update relevant HR systems as required. General Management- The Shift Manager will be expected to cover for the Production Manager when absent and support the Production Manager in other areas of production. Contribute to the overall department performance plan in the areas of Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Motivation and Environment. Drive correct usage, maintenance and development of all production systems. Interested applicants should have at least 2 to 4 years' experience in a management/supervisory role gained in the food, meat, dairy, healthcare  or similar manufacturing industry.
