Oaklodge Nursing Home an established, innovative and expanding nursing home is looking for an Operations Manager to join our team. Reporting to the managing director of the company, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the “non-clinical” day-to-day running of our 65 bed nursing home. This includes the management of the administration, maintenance, housekeeping and catering departments. We have strict policies and procedures in place surrounding Covid-19 which has thankfully enabled our nursing home to stay Covid-19 free thus far. Salary D.O.E. Main role and responsibilities: General. • Establish and develop effective communication between all members of the non-clinical & clinical teams. • Maintain a safe working environment and ensure effective/economical use of all resources. • Report to CEO/DON when changes occur in circumstances, which affect safe and competent practice. • Ensure fire requirements are met in accordance with HIQA guidelines and our statutory duties to include all aspects of fire training, fire drills and fire checks. • Maintain accurate and up to date documentation for all grades of staff to ensure full. compliance at all times with HR best practice, HIQA/WRC regulations and all other legal. requirements. • Enhance & promote a home environment which reflects a commitment to respect and care. for all who live and work in Oaklodge. • Ensure good customer service to both residents and next of kin. • Ensure competence in all professional practice through continuous education. Be familiar. with, and implement, all policies, procedures and guidelines as laid down by Oaklodge. Nursing Home. • Set up policies and procedures to ensure excellent communication and efficient running of. the care home. Assign roles and responsibilities and follow up. Management. • To develop, implement and manage an ongoing marketing and advertising plan for Oaklodge. • Ensure HR compliance within the HR function. • Manage the training function within the business. • Ensure the effective administration of finance. • Supplier management: goods in and goods out. • Promote IPC & support clinical management team through oversight of daily cleaning, to. ensure the provision of high standards throughout Oaklodge. • To be responsible for the maintenance, security and general upkeep of Oaklodge Nursing. Home. • To work closely and effectively with the director of nursing. • To develop and ensure compliance with annual and monthly projected budgets. Requirements: • 2+ years of experience in a similar role (desired. • Competent in preparing business strategies and implementing action plans. • Excellent communication skills. • Strong analytical and organisational skills. • Previous experience of leading and motivating staff.
