Sanderson are working alongside a leading professional services firm to recruit a Strategy Consultant / Economist to join their growing Business Consulting team. The team has a range of service offerings, supporting clients across a variety of sectors including public sector, semi state, healthcare, financial services, SMEs, corporates, charities and not for profits. The role is based in Cork and involves working to deliver key economic and strategic analyses. Employees will be given the opportunity to work on jobs that align with their interests and expertise while gaining valuable experience from working on challenging and rewarding engagements. The right candidate must have a proven track record operating in a financial / strategic role ideally as a qualified accountant and economist and preferably with experience of management consulting gained in a professional services environment. Essential duties and responsibilities. delivering strategic engagements for clients covering the full life cycle. engaging project stakeholders. managing projects / programmes from kick-off to close out. identifying and implementing process improvements and solutions. contributing to the development and implementation of strategic and tactical plans, and mergers & acquisitions. analyzing and conducting market and competitor analysis on a regular basis. utilizing national and international benchmarking data. primary and secondary research including the facilitation of workshops to garner key engagement and strategic insights. working with clients to define, design and implement strategic target operating models. understanding client needs and translating them into feasible solutions aligned with their business strategy. preparing and presenting clear reports to outline best practices. leveraging analytical skills to develop strategies, evaluate programmes and policies and apply economic intelligence and forecasting for key stakeholders. critically assessing information through data analysis and develop mathematical and statistical models. Key requirements. masters/third level degree, with a strong academic record in an economics or business related field. minimum of 2 - 7 years' post-qualification experience in a strategic or economics role is required. Formal report writing and presentations skills. experience in the following industry sectors will be of specific interest: public sector including central government and associated statutory bodies, higher education, healthcare, energy, banking or wider financial services, other consulting experience. experience in business development relating to identifying / developing new opportunities and development of tender response documentation. strong analytical and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to professional and client service excellence. ability to effectively balance a number of tasks, work to deadlines and produce quality deliverables in particular written reports and models. strong Microsoft Project skills, along with Microsoft Office skills. experience in team/project management and leadership; and.
