Maintenance Supervisor is needed by CareerWise Recruitment for an established healthcare organisation. This is a permanent position and will be supporting a healthcare facility with 1,500 employees. The successful candidate will supervise the efficient operation and effective maintenance of all the mechanical, electrical and building maintenance requirements. THE ROLE: * Supervise staff assigned to him/her and to assist in the planning, supervising and control of work programmes; including the supervising of the time keeping, attendance, productivity, and the quality of work and competency of staff under his/her control (including contractors). Identify and address areas of under-performance with either directly employed, contracted staff, or contractors and service providers. * Familiarise himself/herself with new technology and be prepared to participate and co-operate in such training courses considered appropriate. * Give his/her full co-operation with future ongoing developments and with changes in work practices as a result of new technologies, standards or operating procedures. * Assist the Engineering Officer or Designated Officer in the preparation of a comprehensive strategic plan for the proper maintenance of all plant and equipment and provide ongoing progress reports. REQUIREMENTS: * Have successfully served an Mechanical, Electrical or Civil apprenticeship of not less than four years and qualified as a Craftsman as recognised by the Irish Standards Authority ETB (Education and Training Board. * Have 10 years satisfactory post apprenticeship experience of maintaining industrial, commercial and domestic type buildings, of which 5 years experience must be working in a similar complex environment.
