An experienced Staff Manufacturing Engineer is required on a full-time, on-site 23-Month Fixed Term Contract basis by CareerWise Recruitment for our Cork-based multinational, world-leading Medical Device Company. This position is a dedicated project role and will primarily be involved in the layout strategy for the client factory where there is a significant product volume expansion program in place and additional floor space is required to land new incoming equipment. This will be completed through equipment relocations, infrastructure updates and modifications, lean initiatives, product lifecycle management and product transfers. The Staff Manufacturing Engineer will provide technical leadership in the facility and is the Subject Matter Expert across a number of Engineering competencies including lean six sigma, manufacturing and automation. They will possess and apply a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of a particular field of specialization and deliver complex assignments. THE ROLE: * Responsibility for projects (value stream and cross functional) as assigned by the company, including the scoping, approval, budgeting, specification, execution, qualification, and operational handover as appropriate. * Optimisation of current floor space. * Provide support to Process Development / Advanced Operations on technology development and application within the manufacturing process. * Engage in the implementation of lean manufacture within manufacturing. * Validation, Appraisal and support of suppliers, and raw material. * Support process development and cost reduction activities within the business units. * Provide leadership to other Manufacturing Engineers and or Technicians as required. REQUIREMENTS: * Level 8 Degree in an Engineering discipline. * Minimum of 4 years' experience in a manufacturing environment. * Proven Project Management skills through the delivery of business-critical projects. * Demonstrable strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a process improvement orientation, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. * Strong communication and influencing skills with both internal and external agents. * Capable of working as part of a multi-disciplined team in an aggressive, dynamic and results motivated environment.
