External Sales Engineer. Sanderson is partnering with a family run business and a global leader in measurement instrumentation, services and solutions for industrial process engineering. They employ over 15,000 people globally and place a strong emphasis on the employee experience. They are looking for a External Sales Engineer to join the team. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Present a nd sell company products and services to current and potential clients. Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers via meetings (in-person & virtual), telephone calls and email activity. Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific targets as agreed with the Sales Manager. Follow up and visit on new leads and referrals arising from field activity. Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned. Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge, ensuring presentations, proposals and contracts are created accurately. Prepare a variety of status reports, including activity, closings, follow-up, etc. Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments and relevant information to clients. Ensure any feedback gathered through field activity is shared as relevant among the Sales team and Service team colleagues. Gather market and customer information. Any other duties commensurate with your skills and experience and as directed by your manager in the development of the role and the Sales function overall. Experience & Skills Required. Engineering qualification to Level 7 or Level 8. Previous experience in a similar role would be beneficial but not essential as training and development supports will be provided. Proven ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships. Experience managing administration requirements requiring strong attention to detail and good competency with software packages. Excellent communicator - verbal, written and presentation skills with the ability to communicate sensitive information. Understands pricing structures and billing procedures. Maintains awareness of new and emerging technologies and relevance for clients.
