BUYER PLANNER, MRP (MATERIAL REQUIRMENTS PLANNING) required by CareerWise Recruitment for our multinational Pharmaceutical client in Cork, initial 12 month contract on offer. The BUYER PLANNER, MRP (MATERIAL REQUIRMENTS PLANNING) will report to the Associate Director - Supply Chain and be responsible for executing the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) process within the buying planning function. The purpose of the of the MRP process is to maintain raw material & consumable inventory at appropriate levels to meet both safety stock and manufacturing requirements. THE ROLE: * Manage the operation of the MRP process; Reviewing MRP signal, Creation of MRP purchase orders with accurate quantities & delivery timelines, creation of non BOM purchase orders with accurate quantities & delivery timelines, Ensure Purchase orders are aligned to dual sourcing strategies where relevant, Ensure inventory levels are maintained at appropriate safety stock levels to meet production requirements and maintain material inventories within FIFO, while minimizing excess, obsolete and expired products. * Expediting and tracking Purchase Orders to meet production requirements. * Manage solvent ordering process to meet forecasted production requirements. * Own the day-to-day relationship with vendors: lead time, quotes, purchase order updates & queries, delivery timelines, documentation mismatch, returns, payment issues (GRIR) etc. * Engage in key scheduling and planning huddles & meetings to provide updates on delivery schedules & requirements to meet production. * Maintain accurate SAP master data for the Buying Planning function: safety stock levels, PIR, lead times, incoterms etc. * Support quality & technical function with vendor complaints & Supplier Change Notifications. * Proactively engage cross functionally to resolve supply constraints. * Proactively engage in scenario planning and produce concise report on risk for own products. * Buying Planning representative on NPI cross functional team. * Proactively review forecasted inventory projections to identify risk. * Identify & lead process improvement opportunities within the buying planning function. * Preparation of Supply chain reports on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and ad hoc basis. * Preparation of Supply Chain metrics. REQUIREMENTS: * MRP / SAP experience in a complex manufacturing environment. * API manufacturing / Biotech experience. * New Product introduction experience desirable. * Excel: intermediate level. * Excellent communication skills both oral and written. * Ability to present information in a clear, concise manner. * Third level qualification or equivalent education with 3+ years supply chain experience. * Relevant qualification in purchasing / supply chain would be a distinct advantage.
